Virginia Mae Williams

Virginia Mae Beard Williams, 89 of Elizabethtown, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville. She was born October 24, 1931 of Hardin County and was a lifetime member of Valley Creek Baptist Church, where she loved singing in the choir. She was a member of Eastern Star and previously worked at Hardin Memorial Hospital as a nurses aide and the office of Dr. Brassine. She retired from Wal-Mart in Elizabethtown, where she had worked in several positions. Her last job was being door greeter in lawn and garden, which she loved because she never met a stranger because of her friendly attitude. Her oldest granddaughters loved going on her Avon Route with her when they were little girls. She was preceded in death by her parents, George Samuel and Edith Hendrickson Beard; a son, Joseph Albert Williams; a granddaughter, Samantha Ann Williams; her brothers, Floyd, Isiah, Washington, Tommy and Joseph (Jay) Beard; her sisters, Betty Williams and Clara Seabolt. She is survived by her sons, George Michael (Linda) Williams and Randall Dean (Janice) Williams; her daughter, Patricia Gore; daughter-in-law, Lelia Williams; her sisters, Barbara Bunch and Brenda Sue Logsdon; 14 grandchildren and several great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home with Rev. Don Flanigan officiating. Burial will follow in Valley Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of Contributions to the Gideons International.
