Eugene Oldham

Eugene Oldham, 87, of Elizabethtown, died Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Baptist Health Hardin. He was born in Grayson County but was a lifelong resident of Hardin County, and served in the U.S. Army in Korea from 1953-1955. He retired from Pence Electric and farmed his remaining years. He was a born again believer in Jesus Christ since the age of 14, was a member of Little Clifty Methodist Church and attended White Mills Baptist Church for 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Denim and Clara Oldham; an infant brother, Carrol Oldham; sister, Verna Pressley; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Katye Lee Decker; sister-in-law, Paula Meredith; granddaughter, Karen Sweating; and great granddaughter, Charlotte Miller. He is survived by his bride of 64 1/2 years, Emma Joyce Decker Oldham; three sons, Paul Dennis (Jenny) Oldham, Angelo Kevin (Portia) Oldham, and Shawn Eugene (Moraima) Oldham; two brothers, Herbert Hatfield and Gathel Oldham; sister-in-law, Rebecca Decker; eight grandchildren, Alecia (Randy), Katye (Jason), Heather (Jason), Emma, Wesleigh, Kyle (Sara), Austin (Tara), and Kris (Megan); and eight great grandchildren, Alizabeth, Ashtyn, Lucas, Noah Eugene, Amelia, Olivia, Knox, and Axel. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Bruce Underhill, Bro. DeWayne Gibson, and Kyle Oldham officiating. Burial will follow in White Mills Community Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and continues after 9 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
