Hugh Carter Lyon, 86, of Elizabethtown, passed away June 23, 2018, at Helmwood Healthcare. He was a native of Bowling Green, a member of First Christian Church and a Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents, Victor R. and Lucille Basket Lyon; a brother, William J. Lyon; a sister, Jean VanMeter and two nephews, Joseph Vick and Evan VanMeter. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Peggy Jane Bush Lyon of Elizabethtown; sister-in-law, Sandra (Bob) Vick of Glendale; 2 nephews, Paul (Doris) VanMeter of Jacksonville, FL and Wayne (Kelly) Vick of Elizabethtown; a niece, Stephanie (Charles) Ferguson of Elizabethtown; great niece and nephews, Taylor Vick, Chris (Contessa) Vick, Michael Vick, Carter Ferguson, Trenton Ferguson and Chaz Ferguson; and his godchildren, Dr. Arjun Nanda of Clearwater, FL and Sonya Nanda of New York, NY. His funeral will be 11am Tuesday at Brown Funeral Home with Bros. Stuart Jones, Chris Kiger and Tim Hurd officiating. Burial will follow in Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens.
