David Joseph Lenzi

David Joseph Lenzi 87, died Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville. He was born in Norristown, PA, on December 19, 1929 and spent most of his life in Elizabethtown. He served in the United States Army for 2 years and was a Civil Service employee for 39 years at the U. S. Army Medical Research Lab and at the Camp Memorial Blood Center. By trade, he was a professional glass blower making scientific apparatus and glassware for the researchers at the Lab. While employed, he was a member of the American Scientific Glassblowers Association, and in retirement a member of NARFE. He was also a skilled handyman in many trades such as carpentry, electrical and plumbing work, automotive repairs, and many other activities. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Jo Sexton Lenzi, and his parents, Alfonse and Miriam Mintzer Lenzi. He is survived by his son Joseph Alan Lenzi of Louisville, KY, and his sister, Virginia Piergiovanni of Glen Mills, PA. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown with Bro. Leroy Routt officiating. Burial follows in Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville. Visitation is from 4:30-8 p.m. Wednesday and continues after 9 a.m Thursday at the funeral home.
