Claude H. VanMeter, 82, passed away September 6, 2016 at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville, Kentucky. He was a native of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, graduated from Elizabethtown High School, had served his country in the army, and was a retired civil service manager. He is preceeded in death by his parents Reginald Curtis Vanmeter and Galena Buckles, his wife Irene Martha Grant, his brother Charles William VanMeter, and a sister Norma Jean Stewart. Claude is survived by his brother Reginald (Martha) VanMeter of Elizabethtown, his sister Lucy Sharer of Elizabethtown, and special friends Sue Wolford and family. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Friday at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday from 11 am to 1 pm at Brown Funeral Home.
