Priscilla A. Mayo

Priscilla A. Mayo, 88 of Rineyville, died Thursday, April 28, 2016 at her home. She was the daughter of Maurice G. and Ellen B. Chase. She was raised in Sunapee NH. She graduated from Sanborn Seminary. After graduation the family moved to Concord were she met her future husband. She worked at the State of NH as a clerk typist. When the children came along she raised them all to be confident young men and women. She was a volunteer at the State Hospital and a private duty caregiver at the Eagle Nursing Home and became the head of that unit. She worked with the Concord School District for 15 years. After the death of her husband, she moved to Rineyville, Ky to be with Debbie, her youngest daughter. She loved horses at a young age and competed until she moved to Concord. When she turned 50 she resumed competition at Townsends Training Farm and won numerous ribbons and awards. She continued riding and jumping until the age of 79 and at that time she became the caregiver of her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claffee E. Mayo, Jr., who were inseparable for 60 years. They had 5 children. Maurice E. (Joyce) Mayo of South Carolina, Mary Ellen (George) Duncan of Concord, NH, Claffee E Mayo III (deceased) and his wife Rosa Alice Gray Mayo of Hatteras, NC, Bruce C. (Dawn Ellen) Mayo of Concord, NH, Debbie Anne and her committed partner, Kenneth Williams from Whitesburg, Ky, Priscilla and Claffee were blessed with 8 grand children and 18 great grand children. Visitation will be held at Brown Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm. Burial will be held at a later date at New Hampshire Veteran's Cemetery in Boscween, NH.
