Michele Ann Dempsey McCoy

Michele Ann Dempsey McCoy, 42, of Elizabethtown, died Friday, April 8, 2016 at Hardin Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with a brain tumor. She was a native of Amelia, Ohio and an English and German teacher at Ft. Knox High School. She had a Bachelors and Master's Degree from Northern Kentucky University and a Masters Degrees from Western Kentucky University. She was passionate about finding a cure for juvenile diabetes. She was a heartfelt and compassionate mentor to all students who crossed who path. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Joy and Henry Dempsey, Sr. and Dolores (Homer) Hopper. She is survived by her husband of two years, Ed McCoy, her parents, Carol and Henry Dempsey, Jr. of Amelia, Ohio, one son, Caleb Beck of Elizabethtown, one daughter, Caitlin Beck of Elizabethtown, one brother, Steven Dempsey of Richmond, OH, one sister Robin (Ben) Couch of Williamsburg, OH one niece, Abigail and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and very close friends. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016 at Grace Heartland Church in Elizabethtown. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and after 9 a.m. Saturday at Brown Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may go to the American Cancer Society or JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), donations in Caitlin's name, or a fund for her children.
