Robert Hilary Skees, age 88, passed away on January 2 at his home. He was a retired award� winning dairy farmer. His main loves in life were God, his family, his church, his farm and community. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Zorado Skees; two brothers: Anthony (Myrtle, Eva), Adrian (Rose); four sisters: Mary (Murrel) Girten, Martha (Walter) Harper, Viola (Joe)French, JoAnn (Ernest) Thomas; two infant daughters, two sisters-in�-law: Nada Howell and Helen Skees; two brothers-in- law: Guy Mattingly and Jimmie Howell. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Winona (Mattingly); one son: Jerry (Susan) of Lexington; four daughters: Cathy Yates and Tammy Fulkerson of Rineyville, Sharon (Keith) Arnold and Connie Skees of Lexington; ten grandchildren: Jeffrey (Stephanie) Bewley of Lexington, Michelle (Sonnie) Elliott of Elizabethtown, Julie (Stephen) Schroeder of South Carolina, Marcia (Taylor) Rapchak of Pennsylvania, Jennifer Skees of North Carolina, Brandon Yates of Elizabethtown, Daniel (Kelsey) Arnold of Lexington, Amy (Aaron) Fincher of Hodgenville, Nathan Arnold of Lexington, Ryan Fulkerson of Rineyville; one great� grandson: Sonnie Elliott, Jr., of Elizabethtown; one sister, Ceciliana Skees of Loretto, two brothers: Bill (Uldine) Skees of Louisville, Al Skees of Bowling Green; two brothers�-in-law: Raeburn (Nellie) Mattingly and Aubin (Wanda) Mattingly of Rineyville; two sisters�-in�-law: Diane (Oren) Dulaney of Louisville, Olivia Mattingly of Virginia, and many loved nieces and nephews. Visitation is Monday, January 4, 2:00 to 8:00 at Brown Funeral Home in Elizabethtown, with a prayer vigil at 7:00pm and will continue at 9:00am on Tuesday. The funeral will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, January 5, at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church in Rineyville with Rev. Dan Lincoln officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
