Ernest Dean Harned

Ernest Dean Harned, 73 of Dog Creek at Nolin Lake and formally of Upton, died peacefully on Monday, May 12, 2014. After 30 years of hauling bread (Rainbo), he spent the next 20 years fishing instead. He was a member of Teamsters Local 89 and an avid University of Kentucky Wildcats fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, L.E. and Rosie Harned. He was survived by his wife of 43 years, Janice Johnson Harned and four daughters, Deana Sue Harned Snowden (Scott) of Louisville, Beth Harned McNulty (Tom) of New Albany, IN, Krista Faye Harned Hodgkins (Jason) of Shepherdsville, and Lisa Dyan Harned Huff (Terry) of Elizabethtown; nine grandchildren, Thomas (Megan), Geoffrey (Sarah) and Rachel McNulty, Perry, Grant and Claiborne Snowden, Seaera Minyard, Alexis Hodgkins and Chase Huff and two great grandchildren Gavin McNulty and Caleb McNulty. He was also survived two brothers, Richard (Patricia) and Walter Lee Harned all of Louisville. The family will be receiving family and friends for a visitation at Brown Funeral Home, 306 College Street in Elizabethtown on Sunday, May 18, 2014 from 2 to 6 p.m.. He donated his body to University of Louisville School of Medicine. In lieu of flowers the family request donation to WHAS Crusade for Children or Hosparus of Central Kentucky.
