Condolences - Barbara Tyree Mills

I worked with Barbara at the City of Johnson City and I will always remember her kindness. When I lost my home to a fire she was one of the first people to reach out to my family. She gave us household items she was no longer using to help us get back on our feet. She had a heart of gold and a smile everyday that made you feel special. My prayers are with the family for your loss. She is an angel and is in heaven with that smile she always had on her face.

Dear Mr (and Mrs) Mills, please accept my sincere condolences upon the passing of your sweet mother. Barbara was one of the first people I met when I moved to Johnson City in 1985. She was warm and welcoming to my mother and me as I was moving alone from upstate New York to work at WJHL. We both liked her so much so I opened my account at her First Tennessee Bank branch by ETSU. My mom is gone now too. They leave a special place in our hearts. Sincerely, Mary Ellen Miller

Barbara and I were in the same class at Shawnee High School Class of 1953. I always enjoyed being with Barbara & talking with her. It was always great to see her at our class reunions and girl get togethers after she moved back to Kentucky. She was a very pretty lady and was not only beautiful on the outside but the inside as well. I will miss her and her pretty smile. The family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Brad, I feel very fortunate to have known your mom most of my life. We spoke several times after my parents passed. She had amazing stories to share. We shared book suggestions- I will always keep a copy of “The Only Woman In The Room” because it reminds me of her recommendation. I suppose I’ll delete the reminder to mail her a card in October, but I’ll never delete the memory of Susie or Barbara. Peace to you all.

So sad to hear the passing of Ms. Barbara. I worked with her at Tender Touch Senior Services at one time and truly loved every minute of it. Her smile was always comforting, and was so uplifting and kind. My prayers are with you all through this difficult time. Tammy Baocn.
